What makes a great website?

Swansea based website designers, Accent ADC, have the website experience, knowledge and creative flair to ensure that your website is not simply aesthetically pleasing, it must also communicate your message clearly and concisely to the end user. A great website should be intuitive and engaging, relevant and user friendly.

In this high speed age of technological advance, it’s vital to ensure the user is able to access required information as quickly and easily as possible. We live in an age of increasingly demanding consumers with short attention spans, who simply don’t have the time or the inclination to trawl through masses of irrelevant data, and why should they? If your website is user focused and organised, you’ll be able to grab their attention immediately and hold their interest while they search and browse your site.

Creating the right visual impact should not be underestimated. The best websites have been designed and built to look attractive as well as being functional and informative. Your home page needs to draw the user in, they will see the beauty before the function. Our Swansea based design team love getting their teeth into new projects, especially the challenging and constantly evolving medium of web design. Understanding your target market, your company goals and objectives, your desires for the future, your approach to your customers, are all imperative in designing the perfect website.

It’s all about communication. What are you trying to say? What is your business all about? We understand the value of your brand image, the importance of protecting and enhancing your credibility through good design. We work incredibly hard to promote the reputation you work so hard to build. A great website will serve as proof of your professionalism, it says your business can be trusted.

Websites take on a life of their own, they are constantly evolving to keep up with technological advances, demands of consumers, threat of competition, legislation, and of course changes within your own business. The best websites will not walk before they can crawl, but will certainly keep pace with the world around them. Our Content Managed Systems (CMS) allow clients to update their own websites, making it easy to edit and add new data, images, news articles and other posts.

Some will see Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) as a necessary evil, a technological minefield. And they’re not altogether wrong! It certainly poses challenges to website designers with clients desperate to reach number one spots with Google and other major players. Of course, there is no magic wand and can cost a fortune to achieve quick results, but there are several ways to improve your ratings without remortgaging your house. We ensure all our websites contain suitable key words, tags, links etc. and we register all new sites once completed. We’ll advise all we can to start you in the right direction and find the best promotion tool for your website. But, basically, it comes down to love and attention. If you regularly spend a little time on your website, posting unique and informative articles, you’ll be surprised how responsive search engines can be.

So, in summary, a great website must be:

• Attractive and engaging

• Interesting, informative and relevant

• User focused and simple to navigate

• Able to move with the times

• Easy to find on the web

Urban Cyclery

When brothers on bikes, Sam and Lucas approached Accent, we were delighted to be working on this exciting new venture, Urban Cyclery. They were clear in their objectives and wanted a strong branded site to reflect the style and flair of the Italian bikes and cyclery products they are so passionate about. The site works as a promotional tool attracting visitors to their new Swansea store, plus the online shop has proved a huge success in selling products throughout the rest of the UK and overseas. The boys share a family tradition of success within the retail sector, and their dedication and enthusiasm will surely take them forward as a major player, and particularly within the vintage cyclery market. Clever use of retro imagery and stylish graphics incorporated into their new web site will help secure a strong brand image and elevate their status to a well deserved first place!

Design made Easi!

Engineering firm, Beaufort Conveyors producers of modular kits of conveyors asked Accent to redesign their Easikit branding. The Easikit range is the company’s flagship product for various building and engineering projects so it needed a distinct and contemporary look to the brand to stand out in an increasingly competitive market.

Accent has worked with Beaufort Conveyors for many years since they first established themselves in Swansea, so they had a good working knowledge of what was needed. The distinctive black and yellow branding was used across a variety of items such as brochures, postcards, stationery and, of course, website. The Easikit brand has gone from strength to strength in the last 12 months and is proving to be one of the leaders in the conveyor market.
